Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

reflexology

Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. By stimulating the nerve endings of the feet, through application of pressure and touch, reflexology improves blood and nerve supply to all areas of the body. It stimulates the lymphatic system which boosts the immune system, improves circulation to aid in elimination of excessive waste products and fluids, increases oxygen from the lungs to all tissues and promotes the natural function of the body. It is a holistic non-invasive therapy where the client and practitioner interact together to achieve balance and wellness. Reflexologists apply precise pressure to release blockages that inhibit energy flow and cause pain and health issues in our bodies. Reflexology helps to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of your whole body. It is a safe and simple way to induce relaxation and a genuine sense of well-being. Many people have felt relief from chronic aches and pains, sleep better and feel more relaxed.

What Can I Expect From A Reflexology Session?

Following illness, stress, injury or disease, your body is in a state of “imbalance”. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural balance and encourage healing. A reflexologists “trained” hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet. By working on these points the Reflexologist can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body.

What Happens In A Reflexology Session?

  • A session usually lasts 60 minutes.
  • You may be in a sitting or lying position.
  • There are over 70 reflexes in your feet that relate to all areas in your body.
  • All reflex points on both feet will be worked on as the body is considered to be a whole unit.
  • Reflexology is good for all ages.
