Braxton hicks are often described as the contractions that occur before “real labour” begins. They can occure weeks before the mum goes into labour. Patient M.L., posed the question to homeopathic corner, are there any homeopathic remedies for Braxton hicks contractions? We were hapy to provide her relief from Braxton hicks with a popular homeopathic combination remedy called Easy Birth that we sell in the Wholistic dispensary. She finally returned to restful sleeps and no discomfort in her abdomen from the Braxton Hicks contractions. Easy Birth is also used for the treatment of women during their ninth month of pregnancy.

A French research paper followed 90 pregnant women taking Easy Birth in a 5c potency – Easy Birth is the combination of the following homeopathic remedies:
- Caulophyllum
- Arnica
- Cimicifuga
- Pulsatilla
- Gelsemium
They were given doses of this combination remedy twice daily during the ninth month of pregnancy.
This double-blind, placebo-controlled study showed that women given the homeopathic medicines experienced a 40% (!) shorter labor than those given a placebo. Also, the women given the placebo had four times (!) as many complications of labour as those given the Easy Birth.
For a $9 investment for 80 pellets in a tube it seems like a very worthwhile homeopathic combination for Braxton hicks and easy birthing!
